Africa and The Middle East
Note: If you have any questions at the end, there is a forum at the end of the Study Guide that we ( the moderators ) will attempt to respond to.
The General IdeaAfter the 1900s with the conflicts between countries and World War II, European nations declined in superiority. The US and the UN wanted to stop colonialism in Africa and the Middle East, and thus, multiple European countries like Britain and France started decolonizing.
However, some independent movements were more complicated than what they seem, like the Mau Mau violent movement, were Kikuyu farmers killed white farmers in Kenya. African and Middle Eastern nations were struggling for independence from European rule and facing other political, cultural or economic issues. The political geography of many African and Middle Eastern nations changed because of conflicts and imperialism. |
